Why did you decide to get into the spa/beauty industry?
The beauty industry has interested me my entire life, especially skin care and makeup. Working as a receptionist here at Spa Sskwa'q'n fueled that interest and passion. My "spa family" was incredibly encouraging and supportive, so becoming an esthetician felt like a natural step.
What do you like most about your job?
MY CLIENTS! I have been so blessed to meet the most wonderful, interesting people. Helping clients relax makes me feel good. The science behind how ingredients work in our skin fascinates me, and skincare will never become uninteresting since it's constantly evolving.
What is your personal favorite treatment/service on the Spa Ssakwa’q’n menu and why?
I have so many! Our HSR Lifting facial from Babor is a lot of fun to do, and it's exciting when clients can see immediate results as they walk out! I also really enjoy men's facials; often their skin can get very irritated in the beard area and we have some incredible soothing, healing products from Blue Beautifly that I love to use on them or anyone with very dry or sensitive skin. I really LOVE the dewy, bright glow of our Jan Marini C-Esta facial with the 40% Glycolic enhancement and Babor Perfect Glow Ampoule enhancement. I also love adding Babor Hydra Plus Booster Ampoule enhancement to any facial. When skin is hydrated the cells are going to function better so the whole facial is going to be even more beneficial.

June 2022 (with previous tenure working with Spa Ssakwa’q’n).
Date started In industry:
August 2016
Education/Certification:
AA and Licensed Massage Technician
Treatment Specialties:
Gentle Therapeutic Massage
Why did you decide to get into the spa/beauty industry?
Massage therapy helped heal me after an accident so I was encouraged to learn the skill so I could in turn, help others. I became passionate about how this skill will impact the lives of others so I dedicated myself to learning the trade and enrolled in massage school one year later.
What do you like most about your job?
The best part of my job is that rejuvenated smile I get to see from my client when they emerge after the service and say, “The pain is gone!” It is these moments that sustain me.
What is your personal favorite treatment/service on the Spa Ssakwa’q’n menu and why?
I do enjoy the Deep Tissue Massage, but my favorite treatment is the Wetlands Body Refiner. The entire process is so soothing, especially when I “paint on” the toning wrap. The service provides incredibly moisturized skin for days to follow.
