Local Charities Reap Reward at Local Celebrity BBQ Cook Off
Enjoy live music, local craft beer, door prizes, raffles and an ultimate celebrity rivalry match
WORLEY, Idaho (Aug. 23, 2018) — For the third year Coeur d’Alene Casino is bringing food, fun and philanthropy together at the BBQ Cook Off in the Chinook Meadow on Sunday, Aug. 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. All proceeds from the event benefit local charities.
Top regional pit masters have confirmed attendance, representing Drummin’ Up BBQ, Farmhouse Kitchen and Silo Bar, Nordic Smoke BBQ Products, Toby’s BBQ, Smoke ‘N Tee Pee and the Coeur d’Alene Casino’s Red Tail Bar and Grill. There will be a Judge’s Choice Award and People’s Choice Award where winnings will go to the charity of the winning chef’s choosing.
The Inlander Local Celebrity Barbeque Duel will feature Eastern Washington University football and basketball Play-by-Play Broadcaster Larry Weir, and color commentator for Eastern Washington University football, Paul Sorenson, competing to see who will come out on top in an ultimate barbeque cook-off.
Doors open at 5 p.m. with beer from Wallace Brewing and live music by the Powers Band, an indie folk/country group based out of Coeur d’Alene known for their delightful mix of dynamic harmonies backed by acoustic guitar, banjo and fiddle creating the perfect “folky” vibe. Voting closes at 6:45 p.m. and winners and raffle prizes will be announced at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the casino box office or at TicketsWest.com. Tickets include barbeque, sides, beer samples and two drink tickets. A $15 ticket is available for food only. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
