Holiday Season Brings Tradition, Food and Philanthropy to Coeur d’Alene Casino
WORLEY, Idaho (Nov. 16, 2018) – For the Coeur d’Alene Tribe winter is a quiet season, a time for reflection, storytelling and giving back. This month is chock full of just that. The Coeur d’Alene Casino is once again supporting Tom’s Turkey Drive which raises funds to help provide Thanksgiving dinner to those in need. Winter Blessing returns with tribal tradition on Nov. 29 and New Year’s Eve will have everyone celebrating the start of a fresh, new year.
Tom’s Turkey Drive – Nov. 16-17
‘Tis the season of giving and once again Coeur d’Alene Casino is proud to support Tom’s Turkey Drive and encourages the community to participate. The drive, named after KREM 2 meteorologist Tom Sherry, is an annual effort led by KREM 2, Second Harvest and partners to ensure everyone in the Inland Northwest has a Thanksgiving dinner. Winter Blessing – Thursday, Nov. 29
Everyone is welcome to enjoy this free event on Thursday, Nov. 29 at the Coeur d’Alene Casino Events Center starting at 6 p.m. As the New Year approaches, the casino will honor its roots with a night of traditional tribal storytelling and dance exhibition including a special guest dance by hula dancers. The annual event honors the rich tribal culture and a traditional season of reflection and storytelling. Local charities will be presented with winter blessings that reach a total of $20,000.
